We ventured out shopping with the kids last night. It was nearly a three hour adventure once you figured in drive time, bathroom breaks, and feeding the kids in the car. I had three stops: Walgreens, Target and Cub Foods. Here's how we did! :)
WALGREENS:
Total before coupons: $148.55
Total after coupons: $18.41
Total saved: $130.14
~also received $6RR to use next time....~
TARGET:
(there are 10 Propel Waters in the bag...I was too tired to unload them just for a pic!) =)
Total before coupons: $66.82
Total after coupons: $19.57
Total saved: $47.25
~also received a $5 gift card back~
CUB FOODS:
(not pictured are 36 Propel waters that I got for FREE!)
Total before coupons: $101.27
Total after coupons: $18.28
Total saved: $82.99
So, what it boils down to...if I'd walk into all those stores and paid the price on the shelf I would have spent $316.64, but I spent $56.26 and that's not including the RRs or Target gift card that I have in my wallet.
Total time spent preparing coupons: 2 hours (actually it was from 9am to noon, but I was also distracted by feeding the baby and taking care of the other kids so I'm rounding out the time I ACTUALLY worked on coupons!) =)
Total time spent shopping: about 3 hours (again, much quicker without kids, but still fun)
I can't believe you are sooooo good at this! Way to go!
ReplyDeleteOkay...I have a couple of questions:
ReplyDelete1) Did you have RR that you used to pay for your Walgreen's purchase?
2)I'm thinking about doing the W diaper deal, will the infant care coupon book thing take off for as many as you buy or just up to a certain amount? And did you use that? I'd love to do a total stock up, but thought maybe it would cap me...
3)What coupon ordering service do you use? I haven't ventured into that yet to really score and stockpile, but would like to try it because there are definitely times I would like to buy more than I have coupons for.
You amaze me!

ReplyDelete1) At walgreens I rolled my RRs in four separate transactions to spend as little out of pocket.
2) Yes, I bought four packs of diapers at one time and the Walgreens coupon when scanned took
of $8.
3) I have only ever used Ebay to buy coupons. I had a TON of the Propel water coupons because I was going to use them at Target when this Cub deal rolled around. So glad I procrastinated because it was a WAY better deal. I spent $3 for 20 coupons. =)
