Target Shopping Trip (5/2) EASTER CLEARANCE!

The battery in my camera won't stay in so you have to hold it while you take the picture. I'm afraid my finger was in the way a bit. Sorry about that!

Anyway, have you ever just wanted to shop WITHOUT coupons for a change?? Last night while the boys were getting haircuts with Daddy, I took Riley and Connor to Target with me. Before we left the house I started to pull out coupons and look at the deals I wanted to get. And, then it hit me...I was NOT in the mood for that kind of shopping....AT...ALL. So, I left with my catalinas for the nail clippers/files because those are a no-brainer and give me some overage. And we JUST looked at clearance. We had a blast!!! Here's what we scored....

Total before clearance (and a few coupons): $124.15
Total after clearance: $18.31
Total saved: $105.84!!

A breakdown of the highlights...

4 loofas (sp?) - $.19 (reg $1.99) 90% 0ff!!

Sports Wii pack - $4.99 (reg $19.98) - perfect for Charlie's (5yr) birthday on May 11! (AND I like to think that for the regular price of JUST THIS...I got everything else FREE!) :)

Cookie decorating kits - $.99 (reg $9.99) Two for Nate's class and one for our kids

Easter baskets: White bunny/lamb - $.60 (reg $6.00) Going to use these as baby shower gift bags

Easter baskets: small pink - $.25 (Dollar spot clearance) Going to use as gift bags

Tomtom cover (for the one we bought a few weeks ago on clearance!) - $4.98 (reg $19.95)

Easter grass - $.15 (reg $1.49) Use as gift bag filler

Those are just my favorite deals. It was a super fun trip!!

Total after coupons: $0.00! (yep, you read that right...we did pay$1.30 in tax)
Total saved: $34.49

I will post the match ups for these deals in the morning. I got overage on the nail clippers, Allegra and Nivea body wash. Nate actually did this trip tonight and he came home with some coupons that he couldn't use because his total reached $0.00.....so we can go back for more later! :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He also bought a Tom Tom on clearance for $29.98 (reg. $119.99)! They had him buy this in electronics otherwise he wouldn't have run into a problem using all the coupons in the above transaction.
Target Trip ~4/9~
Made a quick run into Target (while the kids and Nate waited in the van) on Saturday. I heard rumors that there may be some meat with $1/1 peelies on them for a quick sale. I was only able to find one package of drumsticks....or "chicken on a handle" as my kids call them. :) Anyway, not a bad trip since the chicken was normally priced at $2.99....
Total before coupons: $22.62
Total after coupons: $2.87
Total saved: $19.75
Total time spent prepping coupons: 5 minutes
Total time spent shopping: 15 minutes :)
Target Trip ~4/8~
Sorry about my finger being in the picture...a certain three year old (who shall remain nameless) got a hold of my camera and you now have to hold the battery in place while taking the picture. I didn't realize that my finger was in the picture and as much as I want to I am NOT getting everything back out for a retake! =)
This trip was good except I had one coupon for $3 off benefiber which expired and I missed that one. I'm horrible at "letting it go" when I mess up like that but my husband is helping me to calm down. LOL
Total before coupons: $62.17
Total after coupons: $17.71
(paid with $10 in gift cards from this shopping trip so total OOP was $7.71)
Total saved:$44.46
Total time spent prepping coupons: 20 minutes
Total time spent shopping: 30 minutes
Target Trip ~4/4~
This was a good trip (as you'll see in my totals), but it should have been a GREAT trip. I'll explain at the end.
Total before coupons: $51.87
Total after coupons: $10.00 (also received two $5 GC for Olay...so in other words, it was all free) :)
Total saved: $41.87
Total time spent preparing coupons: 15 minutes
Total time spent shopping: 30 minutes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Now for the frustrating part. I added up all my coupons (which he pushed through) and subtracted them from the actual cost of the items and I should have spent around $5-$7....however the total after tax was $11.26. The problem is that Target's receipts are SOOOOO hard to read if they "mess up". (you can see on the receipt I was trying to count the number of coupons just to be sure they were all there...and I STILL couldn't find them all!) I've even been at the costumer service desk before trying to fix problems like this one and the employees themselves can't even read the receipts!!!! So, tonight, I'm just going to have to let it go (which is HARD for a couponer to do! :))....after all, my total was $10 and I got $10 in Gift Cards. So, I'll be satisfied with getting it all FREE!!

Target trip ~4/2~

They were out of several things on my list that were out of stock -including one thing that I would have gotten a $5 gift card for - so my out of pocket ended up being a little bit more. Plus we were out of cheese so that was a " must purchase". Anyway here's a pic of my deals....

Total before coupons: $23.92
Total after coupons: $6.02
Total saved: $17.90

Nate picked up a few of my coupon items when he went shopping Saturday night. Here's what he got....

Total before coupons: $44.87
Total after coupons: $4.13 (not including tax)
Total saved: $40.74

This was a complicated one to figure out since he purchased other things on the same receipt so I didn't include tax in my "after" total.

Target Clearance Trip ~3/19~

We put the kids in their jammies on Friday night and strolled through Target just checking out the clearance racks....there aren't many other places to go for "family fun night" with snow still all over the ground! =) I picked up a few things then and when I saw the lightbulbs, detergent, and crayola art sets I knew there were coupons for those things. So, Nate went back on Saturday morning with the coupons and got those. I LOVE seeing those red stickers!!

Here's what we got.......

Total before clearance and coupons: $207.98
Total after clearance and coupons: $35.15
Total saved: $172.83
Also received a $5 gift card for glade products

Total time spent preparing coupons: 15 minutes
Total time spent shopping: ?? We were just strolling the store... =)

Shopping trip ~ 3/17/11~

We ventured out shopping with the kids last night. It was nearly a three hour adventure once you figured in drive time, bathroom breaks, and feeding the kids in the car. I had three stops: Walgreens, Target and Cub Foods. Here's how we did! :)

WALGREENS:

Total before coupons: $148.55
Total after coupons: $18.41
Total saved: $130.14
~also received $6RR to use next time....~

TARGET:

(there are 10 Propel Waters in the bag...I was too tired to unload them just for a pic!) =)

Total before coupons: $66.82
Total after coupons: $19.57
Total saved: $47.25
~also received a $5 gift card back~

CUB FOODS:

(not pictured are 36 Propel waters that I got for FREE!)

Total before coupons: $101.27
Total after coupons: $18.28
Total saved: $82.99

So, what it boils down to...if I'd walk into all those stores and paid the price on the shelf I would have spent $316.64, but I spent $56.26 and that's not including the RRs or Target gift card that I have in my wallet.

Total time spent preparing coupons: 2 hours (actually it was from 9am to noon, but I was also distracted by feeding the baby and taking care of the other kids so I'm rounding out the time I ACTUALLY worked on coupons!) =)
Total time spent shopping: about 3 hours (again, much quicker without kids, but still fun)
